How to install a cooler on a processor

During the assembly of your system, there is a need to install a processor cooler, and if you need to perform a CPU replacement, then cooling must be removed. AMD cooler installation

AMD coolers are equipped with a kind of mount, respectively, the mounting process is also slightly different from others. It is easy to implement, it takes only a few simple steps:

    First you need to install the processor. There is nothing complicated about it, just consider the location of the keys and do everything carefully.     1. Unpack the box with refrigeration, and follow the attached instructions to collect the base, if necessary. Carefully read the characteristics and dimensions of the part before buying it, so that it not only fits on the motherboard, but also fits in the case.
    2. Fasten the back wall to the underside of the motherboard by installing it in the corresponding mounting holes.

    Install the processor and drip a little thermal paste on it. Smearing it is not necessary, as it is evenly distributed under the weight of the cooler.

    The most common and cheapest cooling system used in computers is air, which works with the help of special fans. To better heat dissipation and increase the heat sink surface, metal radiators are placed on the most important parts. They remove a lot of heat, but their area is limited, so fans are additionally used. For example, it is on the main processor, in addition to the heatsink, since this is one of the most important and hottest microcircuits. For the best effect, at least one additional cooler should be installed in the system unit, which will create a constant air circulation and bring hot out. In most computers, especially in the minimal configuration - the so-called office version, no additional cooling is installed. However, in such models there is still one cooler - in the power supply, which is located at the top of the computer. Warm air, rising up from the motherboard and additional devices, is blown out with its help. But this design has disadvantages:

    • All warm air goes through the power supply, which itself is not slightly heated, which is why its parts overheat even faster. Therefore, it crashes most often.

    • The air flow is not very strong, for low-lying devices, such as a video card, is clearly insufficient.

    How to install fans in a computer case

    Installation of coolers in the system unit is carried out according to different schemes. Before you begin, you should definitely familiarize yourself with them, since the incorrect location of these nodes can do even more harm than their absence. Typically, the motherboard has a pair of connectors for cooling. They can be used both or only one. The fan installation diagrams in the computer case will then be as follows:

    1. On the back wall above, opposite the processor.
    2. On the front wall.
    3. The use of two fans - front and rear.

    The fan installed at the rear should work by blowing, that is, remove warm air to the outside.     • It is better to choose the maximum fan size for the installation site - if you can install a 140-mm model there, then put it, otherwise stop at the 120-mm version.
    • It is necessary to control where the fan should blow in the computer case. Front - blowing, rear - blowing. Otherwise, internal pressure and air circulation will be disturbed, and as a result there will be more harm than good.

    Main errors when installing the cooling

    It is important to know how to properly install coolers in the system unit. A malfunctioning cooling system may be ineffective, or, conversely, create conditions for rapid overheating. The most important thing here is which way the case cooler is blowing.

    • Only the rear blower is installed. At the same time, the warm air leaving the power supply unit immediately flows inward again and moves outward in the same circle. In the lower part of the casing, no circulation is created at all, and everything heats up there.
    • Only the front fan is installed, which operates on "blowing". So in the case low pressure will be created, and a lot of dust will quickly accumulate. Heat removal will not occur, so everything will overheat, and the computer will constantly keep coolers at maximum speed, so there will also be much more noise.
    • The rear cooler blows air, and the front cooler blows. This is not normal, if only because the warm air rises and its flow cannot be directed down. Therefore, the effect will be the same as in the previous paragraph.
    • Both coolers are blown in. Overpressure is created in the case, the fans work for wear, but, of course, there is no benefit.
    • Both coolers are blowing. This is the most dangerous situation, since a reduced pressure is created in the case, air circulation is disturbed, and all computer components overheat very quickly.

    As you can see, it is very important which side the cooler is installed on. Once he is turned over, he will begin to blow in the wrong direction. Therefore, this should always be checked. The correct installation of fans in the PC case - the upper back should blow air, and the lower front should blow.
